DACS Custom Manufacturing
DACS began life manufacturing custom interfaces, and has continued this alongside the Clarity range. Being set up to provide custom solutions, we can do so at 'off the shelf' prices. If you have specific and/or non-standard requirements, let us quote to provide a high performance solution.
Some examples of units already out there:
- OutStation Headphone System providing 8 channel headphone mixing and amplification as installed at Castlesound Studios
- Multi channel switchable input headphone system for Newcastle College
- 16 channel volume control using the Eightch PCBs for ambisonic research at the University of Hull
- Multi channel boosters for synthesisers and samplers at Castlesound and University of Newcastle
Headphone amplification (including the OutStation Headphone Amplifier system)
Using the Clarity HeadLite amplifier circuit and balanced I/O, the possibilities are limited only by your requirements. The OutStation system provides 8 channel signal distribution. This is fed to the mixer/headphone amplifiers distributed around the studio. They provide delay-free, pristine audio to almost limitless locations.
- Balanced I/O
- Level matching/boosting
- Switching and routing
- Level control
- Ring Modulator
Custom 32 channel voltage-controlled amplifer
The University of Washington got in touch with us about designing a 32 channel VCA for their large loudspeaker system, which would be running alongside the 'Eightch' and 16 channel VCA we have already built for them. Based on the design of the 'Eightch', the 32 channel VCA features THAT 2181-series trimmable Blackmer voltage-controlled amplifier ICs, which are very high-performance current-in/current-out devices with two opposing-polarity, voltage-sensitive control ports. They offer wide-range exponential control of gain and attenuation with low signal distortion. The unit also boasts muting, gain control stepped in +2dB and +3db divisions, and a remote to control the gain within an 8 foot radius.
