Custom Build
In these financially troubled times, it has become increasingly important for everybody to squeeze the last bit of value out of every pound spent; a custom solution can definitely provide, as our transatlantic cousins say, "more bang for your buck".
When DACS
began operating in the late 1980s, we developed a large range of ‘building
block' modules with Ron Berry, the original designer of the MicAmp, HeadLite
and FREQueII. These allowed us to provide all sorts of people with all sorts of
interfaces, switching, metering and routing. For example, some may consider us
worthy of an award for services to television for making a switcher central to
the post production of Brookside (while some may never forgive us!). We have never yet had to reply
in the negative when we've been asked to provide a specific configuration of
I/O, switching, routing and processing.
With the
advent of our Clarity range of products in the 90s the amount of custom work we
did reduced, but there are many radio, film, TV and recording studios still
using our custom units. We have found that because we are set up for doing it, and because you can get exactly what you want, our custom units are very cost
effective when compared to off the shelf solutions.
