PROFESSIONAL FEEDBACK -DACS Clarity MicAmp
The Clarity MicAmp is known for its' realism, low noise and complete lack of colouration. These are just some of the reasons why it is now being used in both Film and Television Production.
Doug Murray, who was nominated
for an Emmy
in 2007 and has to his credit films such as, Sex and The City,
Night at The Museum and Silence of the Lambs and hit tv series such as
Gossip Girl, Law and Order and Sex and The City, to name but a few, has
used the
DACS MicAmp extensively for foley recording. More recently Doug has used the DACS MicAmp in
the production of 'Bored to Death'
the hit American series on HBO starring Ted
Dansen.

Doug Murray told us....
"One of the most important aspects in recording
good foley is getting it to sound like original production. So the
sound has to be very clear and not have any 'color'
. The DACS MicAmp is
perfect for this. It has a great ability to capture all the subtle
sounds of foleys. Some of the foley recordings are very delicate and
need to be clean and DACS [MicAmp]
gives me the opportunity to get the smallest
sounds and make them punch through the orignal production track. On the
other hand it has the range to capture loud dynamics such as car crash
effects like banging car doors.
The MicAmp was also used on
the Rolling Stones documentary 'Shine A Light'
directed by Martin
Scorcese. I used it to record 20 screaming actors on an ADR stage in
stereo using 2 KMR 81 mics to add some more punch to sweeten the
original crowd screams on certain songs like "Shattered". DACS [MicAmp]
was
perfect for adding to the feel of the crowds and getting the track to
play with all the loud music around it.
Bob Clearmountain did the original recording of the concerts and was at the studio to work with rerecording mixer Tom Fleischman."
